LONGTON UNITED REFORMED CHURCH

Serving the Community, Sharing the Good News

We are an all-ages, all-abilities, all-welcoming congregation based on Trentham Road, Dresden opposite Queen’s Park.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to you to any of our services or activities.

Our church family meets together for worship at 10.45am each Sunday. On the first Sunday of the month we have an all-age service. During the other morning services our younger people have their Junior Church activities except for the second Sunday when they have their own Messy Church. Holy Communion is held during the service on the third Sunday of the month. After each morning service there is ample opportunity to meet up and chat with tea and coffee provided.

On occasions throughout the year e.g. during Lent and Advent we hold an alternative service each Sunday evening where you will be welcomed with coffee/tea at 5pm. Both the content and approach to these services are varied.

Our Bible Study group meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 2pm. This is an informal session of exploring the bible together. No prior knowledge required, everyone welcome.

We are registered for baptisms, weddings and funerals. Please note however we are only registered for marriage services between a man and a woman.  The Church is not registered for marriages of same-sex couples.

OPEN THE BOOK

Open The Book offers primary school children the opportunity to hear key Bible stories told by a team of Christians. We have a vetted script which is firmly adhered to and we wear costumes to help bring the stories to life when we deliver these short sessions to a local primary school. Everyone in this group is DBS checked but you would be very welcome to join us and we would help you obtain the necessary accreditation.

VOLUNTEERS

Please don’t be shy!!!    We know that people are our greatest resource. Whatever skills you have, making a cup of tea, the ability to chat, gardening, craft, computer or art skills, maintenance, organisational or professional skills we would appreciate your help and look forward to working with you.  It’s worth repeating people like you are our greatest resource.
